Speed Enforcement in St Martins

Dear St Martins Residents, 

Today, Monday 16th February, the Rural North Safer Neighbourhoods Police Officer completed some activity revolving around one of the Parish Councils priorities. At 11:29am they attended Overton Road, St Martins where Speed Enforcement was carried out and as a result of this activity two vehicles were recorded as exceeding the speed limit and have been reported for prosecution. 

The penalties for these offences, depending on the speed recorded, varies from a Speed Awareness Course, £100 Fine and 3 Penalty Points, and if largely excessive, a Summons to Court.

Excessive or inappropriate speed has no place on our roads and enforcement activities will continue to take place in locations highlighted by our communities and Parish Councils to tackle the issue and hopefully make our roads safer to travel on.
